"Raróg - the eternal fire" gets an award in the International Silver Accessories Contest |
I am really happy to announce that my piece "Raróg - the eternal fire" won an award in the International Silver Accessories Contest! It's another piece from the "Slavic Tales" collection I started a long time ago and keep adding to it from time to time.
Not it will be exhibited in Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
Raróg - spirit of fire from Slavic mythology, usually taking form of a flaming falcon or a fiery wind. Sometimes seen as an incarnation of Slavic god of fire, blacksmithing (by some considered also a god of Sun) - Swarog, or his animal companion.
For me it is an embodiment of creativity, transforming fire and messenger of luck. My Raróg is roughly based on an actual bird in the genus Falco - Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) which in Polish is actually called raróg.
The idea for this piece came from me listening on repeat to a fantastic song "Raróg" by band Radogost.
Thank you to Yamato Transport Co., Ltd for sponsoring the award.
