Unique, expressive pendant from "Slavic Tales" collection, hand carved and fabricated by me in fine and sterling silver, adorned with 22 natural stones (3-6 mm) and 9 tiny cubic zirconias (1 mm). The stones are: Baltic ambers in various colours, sunstones, carnelians, garnets, and golden labradorites. Aditionally this piece is embellished with gold (24 K - keum boo techniqe, 22 K, "gold paste" technique and electroplated).
Total length of this piece, including the feather "dancing" at the bottom is 9 cm. Maximum width is 3.9 cm. The length of the main element without the feather is c.a. 6.5 cm. The precision of the tiny detailes is really impressive. Finished with oxidation for a nice contrast with the colorful stones and gold. Hung on a flat, red wine coloured leather cord (the silver caps on the cord are hand fabricated and adorned with amber and carnelian). One of the caps forms a hook type clasp visible in the front (right side of the photo). The length of the necklace is roughly 63 cm.
On the back of the pendant there is a stylized, hand formed Slavic solar symbol swarzyca/kolovrat.
This piece took part in an exhibition in Tokio - it won an award in International Silver Accessories Contest. Exhibited also in United Kingdom as a part of "Superbly Sintered" exhibition.
Raróg - spirit of fire from Slavic mythology, usually taking form of a flaming falcon or a fiery wind. Sometimes seen as an incarnation of Slavic god of fire, blacksmithing and Sun - Swarog, or his animal companion. For me it is an embodiment of creativity, transforming fire and messenger of luck. My Raróg is based on an actual bird in the genus Falco - Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) which in Polish is actually called Raróg.
The idea for this piece came from me listening on repeat to a fantastic song (for folk metal fans) "Raróg" by band Radogost.
This piece is oxidized and partially polished. Every single detail of this pendant - the bird, fiery vines etc. - were formed without using any moulds - just simple sculpting and silversmithing tools. It is signed and marked with a year of creation (2023) and the name of the piece itself. It will be packed in a gift box. A certificate of uniqueness is included. True collectors' item.
