Small, elegant pendant totally handmade of sterling silver, adorned with a solid ball of 14K gold and dark, Ethiopian opal (4 mm), displaying mostly green sparkles, just like bodies of flies sometimes do. Oxidized twice (once all the way to black, to showcase even better all the tiny, sculptural details, and second time to give the whole pendant anitque, "dirty" look, and just a pinch of colour).

This piece is in a way a mystical study of a fly and rich cultural associations surrounding it. Starting from relation to dirt and decay, through admiration of the beauty of fly's body seen in magnification, ending with  religious references in Christian demonology, into which the Lord of the Flies got, while being previously to that, the Canaanite god of underground waters worshipped in the city of Ekron (originally he was probably called Baal-Zebul).

Every single detail of this piece was made using just simple sculpting and metalsmithing tools. In the photos, which show a magnification of the piece, you can see anatomically correct fly's head, subtly interlacing arthropod legs and suggestion of wings. The pendant is signed and marked with a year of creation (2020). It comes with a certificate of uniqueness (it's, like every piece you can see on this website, true one of a kind). This piece consists of two moving parts. The bail is hidden behing the upper one. The pendant comes with a silver chain (the length will be chosen by the Buyer).

Total length of this piece is 4,3 cm. Width in the widest place is 2,4 cm. It will be packed in a nice gift box. If you have any questions, please ask.
